Andrew Novak & Lauren Coughlin

December 12, 2025

Q.  We have Lauren and Andrew here, 15 birdies today, nine in a row. Can y’all just talk about what was working well for you out there?

ANDREW NOVAK:  Yeah, I felt like we were in position to make birdie pretty much every hole. You know, always having good tee shots, being in the fairway, attacking pins. We had pretty much a putt on every hole.

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  Yeah, I would say.

ANDREW NOVAK:  A good look. Once we got it going, the putts were going in and we just rode that momentum.

Q.  Y’all just met this week. What’s the team chemistry been like out there?

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  It’s been a lot of fun. I love sports, so we’ve been talking a lot of football.  Andrew has his podcast so we’ve been talking NFL and talking a lot about that out there. Just having a really good time.

Q.  Anything in particular? Playoffs?

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  A little bit.

ANDREW NOVAK:  Yeah, mostly NFL stuff, but nothing, no.

Q.  Andrew, you had some success in team events, obviously a win earlier this year at the Zurich with Ben. What’s it like playing with a different partner in Lauren this week?

ANDREW NOVAK:  I do like team golf. I think it’s just a little bit different aspect to it. I’ve been lucky to have two good partners this year and the vibes have been good during the tournament. We’re just out there having a lot of fun, making birdies and not taking it too seriously, just doing our job.

Q.  Lauren, how much do you think your guys’ games complement each other?

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  Yeah, I mean, a few times I didn’t hit it in there close, but Andrew did, and a couple times I hit it in the fairway, and he made a lot of really good putts, too.

ANDREW NOVAK:  Yeah, I did.

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  I was able to kind of keep us in the fairway and he was able to kind of just hit away if he needed to.

But he was hitting his irons really, really good. He naturally birdied every par 3 today on his own ball. Yeah, I think we just  like I said, we just hamandegged it really good. I feel like we’re really similar players, we don’t hit it super far but we hit it really straight, especially our irons. We both putted really well.

Q.  And with the different format tomorrow, is there anything that you saw out there today that you’re going to change about tomorrow or any strategy going into tomorrow?

ANDREW NOVAK:  We were kind of laughing about it, I felt like we made a lot of alternate shot birdies today where maybe she would have the tee shot, I’d have the second shot, she’d make the putt. Like it sort of worked out that way. I don’t know, if we can keep that going tomorrow it might be a low round.

LAUREN COUGHLIN:  Yeah. I think we haven’t really talked about it too much yet, but that’s what we’re going to go do now.
