Ruoning Yin & Nick Taylor

THE MODERATOR: Nick, overall a new format, something we’ve really never seen on either tour. Overall what was that like today for the both of you?

NICK TAYLOR: It was awesome. I didn’t probably have my best stuff on the greens this week, which was disappointing. I felt like I let Ronni down a little bit, but she played great. It was so fun to watch her and how good she is. I really enjoyed the week. Wish I could have played a little bit better, but it was a lot of fun.

THE MODERATOR: Ronni, what were your thoughts after a format like today?

RUONING YIN: I mean, first of all, I’ve got to say I hit it so short and I didn’t put it in good spots for Nick for the approach shots. But I think we all had fun today, just putts didn’t drop.

THE MODERATOR: Overall both of you have had quite impressive seasons. Nick, how do you sum up your past 12 months?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it’s been a career year for sure. I don’t know if life-changing, but it’s definitely put me hopefully on a trajectory of bigger and better things. Lots to play for this coming year.

I look back from a year from now, it’s been a lot of good stuff. If I can keep doing what I’m doing, I’ll be very happy.

RUONING YIN: I would say career year, too. Just to be able to win a major, and I got my first Tour win, which is amazing.

I think that gave me a lot of confidence that made me believe I belong here.

Q. Obviously the two of you didn’t exactly know each other coming into this week. Being able to gel the last couple of days, overall what was that experience like for the both of you, getting to know each other’s game and also each other’s personalities?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it was fun. It’s a busy week off the golf course, but we got to play at least a practice round, three rounds together. I felt like we kept it pretty loose, had a lot of fun. I’ll be keeping up with how she’s doing and rooting her on, but it was a lot of fun to get to know her the last four or five days.

RUONING YIN: Nick is just such an amazing guy. We were able to have a practice round together on Tuesday, and Wednesday night we had dinner together. Just amazing to be able to hang out with PGA TOUR players.
